Following a successful junior career, Ammaccapane won the 1984 Broadmoor Invitational and the 1985 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. She attended Arizona State University, where she won the 1985 NCAA Championship and the 1987 Pac-10 Championship. Ammaccapane also represented the United States on the 1986 Curtis Cup Team.
