Sara Sanders

Sara started playing competitive golf late after walking on the Stanford team while still competing as an All-American in field hockey.  Joined the tour in 1998 on her second attempt and played for five years before leaving to start a family.  Has two kids, Ryan and Brooke and husband Drew, married since 1998.   Credits her late father Bob Hallock, husband Drew, and the late former Stanford men's coach Wally Goodwin as most influential in her start and career.  Hobbies include a passion for building and remodeling things, her dog Kona, anything sports related, and volunteering at school and helping in the community.  Worked for 12 years in commercial real estate for the Staubach Company, now helps husband Drew with his company, Banyan Tree Strategies. As an amateur, Sanders was the 1994 San Diego City amateur champion and participated in the 1995-96 U.S. Women's Amateur Championships. In 1995, she was a quarterfinalist at the U.S. Women's Public Links Championship. In 1996, she finished second at the California State Amateur.  In 1990 she was the San Diego County high school Athlete of the Year as a three sport athlete.
