(PRIOR LAKE, MN, August 7, 2021) - LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famer Juli Inkster carded rounds of 68, 67 to finish 9 under par and earn a one shot victory in the inaugural Land O' Lakes Legends Classic held at The Meadows at Mystic Lake Resort in the greater Minneapolis area. It was her 6th win on the Legends of the LPGA, official senior tour of the LPGA.

"I really enjoyed being back in Minnesota," said Inkster, who played for Team USA when they won the Solheim Cup in 2002 at Interlachen Country Club in Edina. "The Mystic Lake golf course was in fabulous shape and really fun to play. You had to think your way around - it wasn't just 'bombs away'."

Inkster, a 31-time champion with seven major championship titles on the LPGA Tour, was one of three Hall of Famers in the 41-woman field that included 48-time LPGA Tour champion Nancy Lopez and Hollis Stacy, holder of three U.S. Women's Open titles. The competition spanned two days and 36 holes with no cut.

"I played the par 5's well which set me up for a good round," noted Inkster, who played the par 5 holes at 4 under par in her final round, including an eagle on the par 5 3rd. Inkster also made eagle on the par 5 10th in her opening round. "Rosie and Christa pushed me the whole way," added Inkster. Rosie Jones, an 8-time Legends champion and Christa Johnson, who has 4 wins on the Legends of the LPGA, finished tied for 2nd.

"The fans came out to watch which is always appreciated," said Inkster of the crowds showing their support for the return of the LPGA Legends to the area. "I'm looking forward to next year. Michele did an amazing job for the first year."

The tournament was created and hosted by 2-time LPGA Tour champion Michele Redman, a Minnesota native with five wins on the Legends of the LPGA. Redman fired two rounds of 70 to earn a T8 finish in her event.
