Major champions and members of the World Golf Hall of Fame and LPGA Hall of Fame return to the Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort Oct. 14-16, 2019 for the Senior LPGA Championship. The 54-hole event made its debut as a major for senior women, the first of its kind, in 2017. Inaugural winner Trish Johnson and defending champion Laura Davies highlight a field that includes three World Golf Hall of Fame members, 17 major champions and 24 former Solheim Cup stars.
Dame Laura Davies, who was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2015, added to her list of accolades by setting the Senior LPGA Championship 54-hole scoring record and claiming the senior major victory in 2018 by four strokes. Davies is a 20-time LPGA Tour winner and four-time major champion, with 85 professional wins worldwide. She also was a 12-time European Solheim Cup team member and was a vice-captain for the victorious 2019 European squad.
Trish Johnson was a wire-to-wire winner in 2017, capturing the first-ever senior women’s major title. Johnson is one of the most prolific winners on the Ladies European Tour (LET), with 19 titles to her name and third most in LET history. The three-time LPGA Tour winner also has four Legends Tour wins under her belt.
Juli Inkster will also compete in French Lick, Ind. The 31-time LPGA Tour winner, who was inducted into the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame in 1999 and 2000, respectively, will make her first competitive appearance since captaining the 2019 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Inkster is a seven-time major champion, and has won five Legends Tour titles, including this year’s Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cup.
Notable newcomers include two-time LPGA Tour winner and major champion Karen Stupples. Stupples, who is a Golf Channel broadcaster and analyst, is competing in a senior event for the first time in French Lick. Tammie Green, a seven-time Tour winner and major champion, also tees it up for the first time at the Senior LPGA Championship.

SOLHEIM CUP STARS
The Senior LPGA Championship boasts a field of players with experience in the most prestigious biennial golf tournament over the years. The 2019 Senior LPGA Championship field features 24 players who have made a combined 92 appearances at the Solheim Cup. Juli Inkster, captain of the 2019 U.S. Solheim Cup Team for the third time, returns to the Pete Dye course with one of her vice-captains Pat Hurst and European vice-captains Laura Davies and Kathryn Imrie.
The 2019 Solheim Cup took place in Perthshire, Scotland from Sept. 13-15 at the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles. Team Europe captured the Cup for the first time since 2013, defeating the U.S. 14.5-13.5 in the remarkable three-day match-play event.
